NAPOLEON is a historical strategy game in which two players restage the famous Waterloo Campaign. 

The date is June 15th, 1815, and the game opens with Napoleon's army mobilized on the French border. As Napoleon, you must invade Belgium and quickly defeat the allied British and Prussian armies commanded by your opponent. 

You will have to maneuver your army of infantry, cavalry and artillery along roads, through towns and villages, and across rivers. With a little luck and lots of brain power you can createevery actual or possible maneuver in the Wterloo Campaing by a careful blend of force marches, cavalry thrusts, deployment, and organization of your army. And if you do it well you will overwhelm a slow thinking opponent. 

The object of your cunning strategic play should be to force (or lure) your opponent to give battle on your terms. These battles are ingenious and exciting conflicts which really capture the style and tempo of a Napoleonic battle. Your infantry, cavalry and artillery all have different tactical roles and advantages. You can attack with infantry, charge with cavalry, from squares, mass your guns, charge the guns, and gun the charges. With superior tactics you can rout a larger enemy force is battle.
