• Game of Nations (Le jeu des Nations) 1973

A political game of strategy

Politics has been called a game played between nations. In the modern world of international diplomacy, and intrigue, there are new stakes in this old game - economic survival. That means energy, and the key to energy is oil. As the world turns on oil, so the modern game of nations is being played not for ideology, not for nationalism, but for black crude. In the game there is but one main object - to survive....

The players in the Game of Nations are rival Superpowers with designs on the rich oil bearing countries of the continent of ''Kark''. Using diplomatic pressure and persuasion, as well as undercover espionage, they try to gain control over the rulers of these desert states, foment revolutions, and gain access to the rich petroleum resources. Building pipelines and fleets of tankers are necessary to get the oil to home refineries. With other Superpowers in competition to gain the same ends, it's a game of unscrupulous political strategy and intrigue - for the highest stakes!

The first prerequisite for winning a game is to know that you're in one!
